Williams Custom Calls
Plain Jane Slate/Glass
I came up with the "Plain Jane" call series because a fella named Kevin Yates from Waverly Tenn. called and told me that he and others like him did not want to scuff the glass on the "Collector's Grade" calls. He called me and asked if I would make him an "Ugly" call...well this is as close to that as I feel I can get.
Cherry is the wood of choice for all of my field grade calls. As stated above...Cherry gives the call an excellent two tone roll-over and makes for an attractive call aswell.
Some times I have different woods on hand that have been field tested by me or my Pro Staff in the form of a these field grade calls. Curly Maple and sometimes Bird's Eye Maple are used but are not the "standard wood of choice". Please Email me for more details on what woods are currnetly avaliable for the Field Grade Calls.
The price for the "Plain Jane is currently $40.00 plus shipping. The call comes with a turned Hard Maple striker.
Williams Custom Calls
Plain Jane Glass/Glass.
The Plain Jane Glass/Glass call is the #1 selling Williams Custom Calls turkey call. Here is an example of a few of my Plain Jane calls. The Plain Jane G/G call is set in an American Cherry pot that has been hand turned on a lathe in the Williams Custom Calls shop located in Dearing, Ga.
The price for this "Plain Jane" is $40.00 plus shipping. The call comes with a hand turned Maple striker.
This pot has been turned from Wild Cherry Burl.
Wild Cherry Burl is not avaliable just anywhere...I harvest this burl here in McDuffie County Ga. Once I harvest the burls they have to be milled and dried about one year per inch of thickness. Thus the long waiting period between harvest and finished call.
